This week's Thursday image diary is a tribute to the 1950's Vogue cover photographed by Irving Penn. It is one of my favourite photographs of all time and I've been using it as inspiration while redecorating my workspace as of late. Why a cat you ask? Well, they call it the catwalk for a reason!

A while back, I had the opportunity to do a fun illustration for National Mortgage News. The article was about lenders trying to entice buyers to purchase a property by making some small but impactful ‘cosmetic’ repairs to the property. Here were some of my initial roughs. I focused on two different concepts: the first being a ‘cosmetic’ change and the second focusing on the idea of lenders enticing buyers. The art director went with the hair cut concept. Here are some progression shots from lineart art to final: I have another variation of this illustration in blue. The blue one went to print but the yellow one remains my personal favourite. I hope you enjoyed this post. Next weekend, I’ll be posting about how I deal with one day deadlines. I’ll be referencing a specific assignment that I did for Business week. And because you’ve read up this far, I’ve posted the illustration below :-) ~Bye for now
